Double Trouble

Updates

03-05-2007

I've made yet another revision to the script. This one is exciting because it's not just checking for typos or tweaking the dialogue a bit; it was a character change! I originally had a paper boy in the script but the actor I have cast for the part (yes, I have an actor cast already. Two actors actually) is a bit too old for a 40's paper boy so he's been upgraded to a shoeshine boy. This meant that the action in the paper boy scenes had to be reworked, the dialogue had to be changed to fit a more hardened, grungy character, and the parts where one of the characters was actually buying a paper had to be changed a bit. Thanks to Jim of CCF for helping work out the character!

I'm also in the midst of finding locations which is the hardest part of filmmaking for me. I have a few in mind and I picked out most of the exterior locations. Once I find a place for Larry's office (the detective in the story) I'll be able to start casting! So what's left on the preproduction To Do list? Locations, cast, costumes, and some props. We're looking at filming in early April now I think. (I can't wait!)

Ooooh. Two updates in one day! I'm here to announce a new section of the site- the Fun Stuff page! So far the only thing on it is a list of Gangster Speak vocabulary. The list will be growing and so will the Fun Stuff page!

The storyboards are finished! Yay! So what's the next order of business? Finding locations (the hard one will be the detective's office).

I've been busy working on the storyboards. If you don't know what storyboards are they're pictures drawn in comic book form (frames) to show different shots and angles that will be used when the scene is filmed. This is extremely helpful on a feature film because there is no way for a person to remember every angle they wanted to shoot when there are 60 pages of script to be filmed! I'm more than halfway done on the storyboards (17 out of 22 scenes) and when they're done I'll scan some in and post them.

Early Christmas presents are fun! I got a 1920's style candlestick phone that will look great in Double Trouble!! It works as a real phone too; complete with the removable earpiece and circular dial. The only think it doesn't have is a spin dial- they're buttons, but that's OK because it looks so cool!!!!! There are new pics of it here. Thanks for the early Christmas present!!!

Yay for hats! As you can see I've added another page to the Double Trouble part of the site; a costume and props section. Right now I have pictures of some the hats we have. Later I'll put up pictures of full costumes and certain props. So click here and feast your eyes on the awesome 1940's style hats!

Yes! The secret is out! The title of CCF's feature length film is Double Trouble!!!!! I think it's about time this project has gotten its own page on the site. On this page we'll post tidbits of info on the project, video production diaries, stills, and much more as Double Trouble goes through production!

What can I tell you now? The script is reaching the final stages. We've already bought some of the costumes for extras and some really cool 1940's style hats! (I love hats!!!) The script is a good old-fashioned, film noir style mystery (check out Danger under the Completed Projects section to learn a little about film noir).

So keep checking back for more info! (But I can't promise updates every day!)
