What starts out as a normal family dinner soon turns into a crazy circus when grandpa drops dead in to his mashed potatoes.
This was an awesome shoot! We had a fun cast and crew and though we had our share of production problems the final product is something to be proud of.
First problem was a sick cast member. Originally, Trent was to be a six year old boy. On the shooting day the kid we had cast was sick and needed to be replaced pronto. Patrick was drafted to replace the original actor about five minutes before shooting. With a few script adjustments Trent became a middle school aged boy. (It would have been awkward having a 13 year old sing the cheesy kindergarten song we had scripted at first!) Kudos to Patrick for knowing his lines well considering he was an emergency cast member!
The cast change was the only big problem we had (the other is a broken boom mic that we took out halfway through shooting). Shooting from then on went smoothly and we finished about two hours ahead of schedule! Each cast member brought excitement and a certain style to their character. I'd always wanted to make a character piece like this and the killer cast helped make it a success!
Post production was a breeze. Editing was very straightforward and we had plenty of footage to use.
